Squad Picked for Reading, London 2009 Brittish Championships

The names of those selected are listed below for your information.
I will contact you shortly with flight numbers, dates and all other necessary information. I am waiting on a detailed itinerary from the event promoter. We will fly Cork – London Heathrow departing on the Friday and returning the following Monday. I am also waiting on price quotes from hotels in the vicinity of the venue. We will be collected by coach at the airport and taken to our hotel. It is likely that Kids 7 and under, Cadets and Veterans events will take place on the Saturday; with Junior and Senior events on the Sunday.
Everyone on the team should compete in Sparring and Pattern events, so it is vital that everyone keeps fit over the summer months and practices their patterns every day with a view towards improving them with every practice session and not just going through the motions etc. Please note that there will be a master seminar with Master Norman Creedon, 7th Dan in Larkspur Park, Cashel on 12th July at 10am which would be very beneficial to those on the squad. Please contact me to register for same.
I would stress that every effort will be made to fully sponsor every competitor so as to reduce the financial burden on families. This can only happen if people from every club get involved in organizing fundraising activities, such as bag-packing in supermarkets, car-boot sales, table quizzes, race-nights, petitioning businesses, sponsored walks, sponsored stunts e.g. shaving your head, waxing your back, legs, chest, all over etc. Come-on Dads get involved. I am aware that fund-raising committees have been established in a number of clubs already, which has proved very successful to date.
